this group explores autonomy and landscape/mat urbanism... questions regarding typology, programme fit and overprovision of the mesh network were raised...but they did get due props for rethinking the traditional, centralised campus...
this is a version of megastructural/infrastructural urbanism... keeping the buildings along the edge to preserve the terrain - quite a massive built form... almost a linear built mall with the programme elements arrayed along... issues on interconnection with the other side and the kinds of student public spaces were raised
This is megastructural urbanism again... with an almost architectural solution... they got critiqued for being a bit too transfixed on the shape of the buildings...
This one is a mix of object-fabric architecture... they got hammered a bit on why they insist on slapping an icon building in the middle of the site...
this one is based on reinforcing a student-streetscape... sort of like a "las ramblas" linking NUS with the town of Clementi... issues such as pedestrian amenities/walkability were raised... along with realistic programme fit on building volumes...
mmm... am not sure if i would be proud of having it there or not. though it looks like someone is using it for there are crease marks on it. good luck. hehe...
interesting pedestrian mesh. i just wonder why the walkways are along the solid structure's perimeter and never thru, under or even over? it doesnt seem to engage with the buildings.
or it was dictated by the programme bro? thanks! =D
why do i feel that this is the best work? is it the blue foam? hehe
hmm i actually dont have problems in having a distinct building at the middle of the devt. i think it would serve as a landmark and would help in mapping out your way around a clustered complex. maybe it looked too heterogenous because it used a different form and a different material from the blue foam.
form-wise i think its well addresed... defined approach using transparent material, entry structures having horizontal gestures, a landmark at mid and vertical gestures at the background, landscape along perimeter to dispures massiveness of structures, foliage at interstitial spaces.
actually... ang crit nila dito... masyado architectural ang approach... tsaka sobrang lusaw ng thought process... naging koleksyon ng ibat-ibang architectural proposals... oh... maybe the blue foam helps... :)
actually yung design nila allows for those variations... yung strategy nila is that the walkways are potential originators of new expansion programme in the future...

ReplyDeleteyup, too unique. parang space ship... naligaw lang.
ReplyDeleteAre the card boards near the buildings a road network?
ReplyDeletei wonder how it got there? how embarassing...
ReplyDeleteIndeed! jahe talaga... one of my singaporean classmates mentioned it to me and asked me if this is where we get our HOA and TOA from....
ReplyDeleteaccording to their proposal... overhead walkways yan with programme underneath

this is a well-thought scheme.
but its just me, im a layman to urbanism =D
