Subject: Updates on Admission Procedures/Documents and GSA
Hi Mr. Low and Ms. Hillary,
I'd like to check if there are any updates regarding procedures, documents or requirements that I have to fulfill for admission. Will I be receiving another set of docs/mailer containing the required forms? What steps should I take in order to reserve for housing?
Also, is there any news regarding the GSA?
I would appreciate the update.
Thanks,
Leandro

Domestic Warming
Its been a 2-year summer;
despite the mounting heat
and fierce glare
that each day brings;
Everything seems to flourish
around his scorched plot.
The earth, instead of cracking;
has fused into pavement;
the surface of asphalt and sand
melting under the heat;
mirroring the fierce tropical sky
The picture he sees,
Amorsolo can't paint
his colors and brushstrokes
won't even approximate
this long summer's
harsh brightness
He stands in the shade
toiling and praying
like the rainmakers of old
that the monsoons
fulfill their promise
and come soon
Its been a long summer,
broken only
by the brief respite
that each tired night brings.
Yet even the moon ripples
in the heat of the pavement
He sees no end in sight
this harsh season
continues to burn;
the tides have been late
and low in their arrival;
The streams feeding
the plots of land
have all but dried up
leaving him wallowing
in the shade
waiting
for the rain.

Motivation
imagined it;
did exactly
as I thought;
Did what I
set out to do
Did it;
yet it will not define
who I was nor
who I am.
Time has stood still
once again
the same challenge
is set before me
I've wanted this
and prepared for this
all my life.
Instinct and Intuition,
Intellect and Passion
All honed and forged
by the fire of love
and the hammer of experience
No longer a title;
its not about earning
the right for others
to call us something.
Its now about knowing
within ourselves
whether or not
we really are who we say we are.
Its not about monuments
but about the trust
that people put in.
Its no longer about
doing things to satisfy your ego
but its about being guided
by better judgement...
Its no longer about fame
or about just changing the world
Its about loving what you do
and doing it for the rest of your life
Its not about the money
its about the direct joy you earn
from the act of creation.
Its about the mobility
that it affords you to do more...
Its not about Man's abilities;
but God's gifts...
Its not about the code or the law...
its what you intuitively know as right
and beautiful... in your soul
Its not about three days
or the volumes of books
or the sheets of tracing paper
Its about earning the humility
and the wisdom to realize
that at the end of the day...
despite the honor...or dishonor
we are all just starting...
I may not know all there is to know
I may not have read or seen or
experienced everything...
But with what I've learned so far...
I know I'm ready.
Because whatever happens...
it will not define me.

Random things I look forward to:
Ah yes... as obscure as it can get, I can't help but grin at these beautifully designed/engineered/crafted yachts. These babies are so gracious, considering that they are caught in a constant wrestling match between the waves/current and the wind.
This is the only kind of sport that challenges man in both wind and water at the same time. With crews battling to move their rigs faster and skippers tacking to the wind, these graceful wings slice through the elements and are models of man's ingenuity, from a long way back in pre-history.
I'm watching for the big 3: Alinghi (Team Switzerland), BMW-Oracle (Team America) and Team New Zealand... and I'll be keeping an eye out for Team China... this year's newest participant, and the underdogs for the race.
2. The NFL Draft - coming next week... the biggest highlight of the NFL offseason. This is a virtual casino where teams bet on players who have virtually no sure signs of success in the league. I'll be watching for who the Niners (Coach Mike Nolan) take with the 11th pick in the first round. This is sure to be a crucial draft for the Niners, with 8 picks in the first 4 rounds, it is imperative for them to choose well and stock up on depth and starters for their rising team.
3. Episodes 20 onward of Season 3 = Grey's Anatomy and the spin-off: Private Practice
The succeeding episodes will be quite intriguing as the writers will try to weave together so many divergent plot lines. Will make for good TV
4. Design Studio Classes (Mon/Thurs)
Yep... Its been a while since I sat in Design Studio class. I'm feeling anxious about whether or not I'll be able to finish what we'll be assigned to do in a day. I'm hoping everyone hits the ground running.

Random Update
Yes... I spent 3 half-assed days pretending to study (for 4 hours) and spending the rest of it on watching Grey's Anatomy (something I've been wanting to do in a long time... I really don't have time for TV). I got hooked and it got so bad that I decided to just take a whole day off to finish the season 3 dvd (which is only up to episode 17).
Its funny how a TV show can wake-up and force you into relapse... a relapse of thoughts, memories and emotions which are better off kept in the hairline cracks of your consciousness. But I guess its good too, because it triggers a lot of introspection. Here are a few things I think I think:
a. I need to learn to trust my gut/intuition more. Whether it comes to reading people, designing buildings, solving problems, etc. Looking back at my recent history and trying to connect the dots... I realize that my initial thoughts and decisions on things were usually the right courses of action. I trust my gut more now.
b. Cold hard logic isn't what drives people to do things. Its emotion... go figure...eMOTION. (sounds like a really lousy ad for a computer school) I feel now.
c. To Marella - I just talked with your mom. Tita tells me they aren't pushing through with the house. I understand the change in priorities. Thank you for trusting in me. Its actually liberating... because for months now, I've been holding-off and working on the project intermittently, mainly because of my gutfeel and a host of other... uh...attachment issues. Don't worry I'm good. I'm free now.
d. To you in the middle of nowhere... Congratulations on finding what you were looking for. Don't criticize something you never understand, because you never had it. Don't criticize people for being too close to their parents and their families... because you never had one. The things you are looking at are all fundamentally flawed because your basis and premises on judgement are all wrong. How can you establish firm decisions when your baselines are not stable? Truth is... you don't know better... so don't criticize your ex for loving his family more than he does you. Because the truth is... Unlike you, he is part of something bigger... he's part of something...while all you do love is yourself and all you really do is try to find things you lack but don't need... you couldn't even get yourself to love or care for your brother. Congratulations. I know better now.
Anyway... enough with this... I got to do stuff now.
